Diversion Program
A partnership among Gavin Foundation, Area C-6 Boston Police and the Boston Juvenile Court, the Diversion Program targets youth involved with the Court as a result of drug or alcohol related offenses. Parents may also refer their children who may be at risk of court involvement. The Diversion program provides at least eight one-hour group sessions focused on substance abuse, violence prevention, personal goals, health, and links to community resources. When ordered to participate by the Court, youth’s attendance is reported weekly to the Clerk Magistrate. The Diversion Program services 75 youth each year.
